The Disabled Independent Gardeners Association (DIGA), a Metro Vancouver non-profit, brought the joy of gardening to people with physical disabilities through adaptive tools, hands-on workshops, and fully accessible gardens. Participants who faced mobility, income, or transportation barriers were able to grow their own food, reconnect with nature, and strengthen community ties. Funding supported garden improvements and beautification projects, enabling even more people to join in, learn, and thrive in these welcoming green spaces.
