Past Projects

In 2021, the Landscape NL Horticultural Association transformed another “Forgotten Corner” into a welcoming and vibrant community space at the intersection of Savage Creek Road and Logy Bay Road in the Town of Logy Bay–Middle Cove–Outer Cove. The redesign was led by AIRO Landscapes Inc., who developed a fresh and engaging landscape plan that revitalized the area. Construction was completed during the week of July 26–30, 2021, highlighting the impact of collaboration and community pride. Project partners and sponsors included Green Cities Foundation, Cadillac Services, Pat’s Plants & Gardens, Concrete Products, Murray’s Garden Centre & Landscape Services, and Evans Landscaping, whose support helped bring the project to life. This project serves as a lasting example of how the landscaping industry can positively transform public spaces and create beautiful, welcoming places for the community to enjoy.

Landscape Alberta & Landscape Saskatchewan have partnered with the City of Humboldt, the Humboldt Hospital Foundation, Green Cities Foundation, and Communities in Bloom and Scotts Canada, to build a “Healing Garden” at the Humboldt Regional Hospital. This garden will not only serve as a place of relaxation and tranquillity for those receiving treatment and care at the hospital but as a memorial for lives lost in the Humboldt Bronco’s tragedy.

In the spring of 2019, Landscape NL Horticultural Association (LNLHA) proudly launched The Forgotten Corner project—an initiative designed to both beautify underutilized spaces within municipalities and strengthen the visibility of LNLHA across the province. Municipalities from throughout Newfoundland and Labrador were invited to submit locations in need of revitalization. Following a review by the LNLHA committee, the public was engaged through social media to vote for the municipality they felt was most deserving of the project. The Town of Bay Bulls, with the Ryan’s Property, was selected as the first community to participate in the LNLHA Forgotten Corner initiative. LNLHA representatives collaborated closely with the Town of Bay Bulls, visiting the site and working with municipal staff to move the project forward. A call for design proposals was then issued to LNLHA designers, and the winning design—created by AIRO Landscapes Inc.—was chosen by the Town. Construction was completed in August 2020, transforming the space into a welcoming and vibrant community feature. The official opening of The Forgotten Corner, the first project of its kind for LNLHA, was celebrated on September 3, 2020, in Bay Bulls. This project stands as a proud example of collaboration, creativity, and the positive impact of professional landscaping on community spaces.
